Dr Steve Skipper
Hi, my name is Steve Skipper.
I moved to New Zealand in 1963 after living in Kenya for 10 years.
I graduated from Massey University in 1975 and have been in small animal veterinary practice since then. After 2 years in South Auckland I spent 2 years at Melbourne University as an Intern specializing in Canine Surgery. I returned to Auckland in 1980, first at Dominion Road Veterinary Clinic, then at Papatoetoe. I have been the owner of East Coast Bays Veterinary Clinic since 1985.
I became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1981 in Canine Surgery. Some of my special interests include orthopaedics and neurosurgery.
I live in the country with my family and enjoy travel, wine and tramping – preferably a combination of all three!
We have many pets including Gus the white Boxer, Sophie and Suzie the Jack Russel’s, Stanley and CC the cats, four horses, five very old sheep (lawnmowers), 3 rabbits and a guinea pig, and 2 budgies. |

Dr Steve Gordon
Hi my name is Steve Gordon.
I have been co-owner of the Clinic since 1990. I trained in New Zealand, practiced here then spent some time in England as a Veterinarian before travelling the world in good kiwi fashion.
Like many of the pet owners I speak with I was animal crazy as a child and decided to become a Vet at the age of 10. Happily I can say I still love being a Vet and I’m still fascinated by animals. In fact I often spend my holidays on animal adventures – from solo encounters with bear, moose and wolves in the Alaskan wilderness to gorillas in Uganda.
I live locally and enjoy being part of the East Coast Bays Community. Of course there is a big incentive to do great work when you live amongst the animals you are treating!
You may see my cat Curly down at the beach as he likes to follow us down there!
I have a special interest in orthopaedic surgery and oncology. |
